i just had 2 elders come over this morning.

2 witness ladies offered me the latest mags as i walked down my driveway.

(they really dont put as much effort into their presentations as before) anyways i took the mags and gave them 2 bucks and my phone number.

Jamie; if you want to argue HELL WITH THEM. use rev 20:10 AND ECC12:7 luke 16:17-31 ETC. but i would steer clear of such banter. and ask them to prove jesus choose the wt in 1918/19 only from wt books printed till 1918/ then start bringing all the wacky false just they were teaching at the time . and ask them point blank. so jesus choose these pyramid worshipping false prophets. in 1918? what ever topic you pick . remember to hold their feet to the fire each time you get them in a corner. and press them. never let them off the hook. when you bust them lying. have fun. john

Could anyone tell me how exactly Jehovah chose the WT society in 1919?

this teaching is so unique and singular to the jws and fascinates me greatly but i have yet to get any jw answer how this choosing actually happened and instead i'm left with the same feeling of confusion that i get when i ask how someone would know they were anointed.

how did this process of selecting a correct church occur, how did they know it would happen in 1919 if they weren't pre-selected already, how did they know it was going to happen (bit rough on all the other churches who clearly didn't get a chance to spruce themselves up for 1919) and once the votes were cast and jehovah made up his mind how did he inform the contestants of the results?

do the jws claim any kind of divine affirmation of their selection at all?

i have never ONCE lost this arguement with one jw. all great posts. basically you can just move everything from 1874-1878 to 1914-1918/19. and you have the doctrine. all build on lies about 1799,1829,1844, 1874- 78 ,81 etc. it's so simple any CON MAN can do it. john

The JW turn out for service was down today

i went by my local kh at 10:30 saturday oct 21 and noted about 40 cars in the parking lot.

on wednesday (two days earlier) i counted 60 cars in the parking lot at 10:30 .

i was expecting a greater turn out on saturday but actually it was far less.

i just happend to be out . this beautiful saturday morning, before 9 a.m. on a very busy pedesterian ave. waiting for my turn to get a hair cut. sipping coffee outside the barber shop. to 5 different groups of local jw's on their way to the hall. the first 2 guys were dressed alittle hip hop or maybe just poor. i asked them a few leading questions near the bus stop. they said nothing. then tried to place a few little tracts at the bus stop. well that didn't work so well for them. as one guy was a presbaterian(sp) . and of course i got into the conversation. they had nothing more than their presentation. i'm surprised they even tried it. but they kept looking back at me as i was talking to this christian. the best part was i asked the young bro's why they were walking so SLOW. they told me they were tired. i said i'de be tired TOO walking the pioneer DEATH MARCH!!!!!!!! ABOUT 4 minutes later it was to very old jw ladies. truely walking the wt death march, i didn't have the HEART and let them stumble along. next 3 30 yrs sisters . in high gear, coming out of the dry cleaners. . boy they were just to fast . i couldn't catch them. plus they were just getting in thier time. next 4 20 year old jw's come down the other side of the street. so i cross. hoping to see a wt mag or tract in one of their hands... but no luck . i say hello . but i'm not sure they are jw's. but i think they are.. so i call out, guys which pumpkin you think i should get for holloween, as i'm out side the fruit store. one called out the scary one. i reply that should keep the jw's away. they just laughed and kept walking. that was good. about 5 minutes later . 3 middle aged sisters' come the down the other side of the street . they scope me . and i figure i'll cross and talk to them. as i start crossing the 4 lane ave. they start crossing the other way. i know why they started crossing against me. i waited till I got into the middle of the busy road . and turned back. just to TEST IF THEY REALLY WANTED TO CROSS? WELL I WAITED JUST LONG ENOUGH FOR THE TRAFFIC LIGHT TO CHANGE. BE CHANGING MY DIRECTION. AND SURE ENOUGH , AS SOON AS I TURN BACK THE JW'S TURNED BACK TO THEIR ORIGINAL CORNER. so i busted them . running from me. THE SAD PART WAS THEY WERE STUCK IN THE MIDDLE OF A 4 LANE STREET. RUNNING AROUND IN CIRCLES. WITH CARS COMING FROM EACH DIRECTION. WHAT'S THAT KINGDOM MELODY. were are jw's we speak out in fearlessness? they were running from traffic. truely a sad bunch. P.S. i really enjoyed my coffee this morning. got a good haircut. and did a little shopping . and was wearing my judge rutherFRAUD SHIRT. NOT ONE JW'S KNEW WHO HE WAS BUT THEY KNOW NOW

I spot this lone jw, holding one of those little tracts in her hand. but not offering it to any of the dozens of passerbyers. i figure she's weak and just getting her time . on her way to work. so i stop. and ask her for the new tract. about false religion. but she has no wt material. so i ask her about false religion? she's not saying much. so i tell her i used to go to the halls back in the 60's and 70's. and i learned there what false religion is. she get's excited. and starts talking. i go straight into false prophecy. but never mention the wt. she agrees. i'm looking at her face and body and she looks maybe 28-32 years old. and maybe not a jw long. so i ask how long you have been a jw. she tells me 46 years since her birth. so your just a year younger than me. how did you feel about the wt telling us that we wound never finish junior high school , and the 1975 junk? she looks perplexed. i bring up false religion again. and ask her point blank was what we learn at the hall, truth when we were kids? she goes well no. but we got new understanding, i ask but didn't they teach at next to every meeting , that us little ones would never finish school before the new system? she admitted YES THEY DID PROMISE US THIS. but jehovah;s people got new understanding. i ask new understanding? did jehovah ever say this or was it the wts that told you this? she switches into thoses that choose life or death from duet. I JUMP OUT and tell her she has choosen death. following the wt . you have been around the wt long enough to remember at least 3 of their false proheices for the end of the world. etc. we talked a little longer . i don't think she's a strong jw. she said it was all my opinion. that the wt was false. so i went to the satanic ritual of the memorial. and got out my bible. and read her jn 6 then asked her who has choosen life or death , then switched to matt 23 about those who ain't going to heaven. want to keep you out also. there was more to this . i can't type it as it happened. but it went fairly well. john

i still consider myself a christian, and would like to find a forum where good discussions about faith and christianity are featured.

i love the give and take here - and will not be abandoning this forum - i just want to add a dimension to my spiritual thinking that seems missing at the moment.

i do not attend church.

( but the wt was never shut down) 100's of non jw's were killer for their anti war stance. amny people deported out of the country. for speaking out. but the wt will have jw's think it was only 7 jw's that were persecuted. and they only spent 10 months in jail. not 15 years. all this is simple history anyone can look up on the internet about ww1. there was a jewish newspaper jujst a few blocks from bethel were the police killed a few of the editors. and closed the whole place down. what a web of bullshit the wt spins. john

the ones i grew up with always speak to me even the ones who have subsequently become elders and are pioneers.. they sicken me!!!.

i would like to shun them, eventhough we were freinds growing up.

yes i reverse shun a selected group of jw's i've known most of my life. funny they have shunned me for years. but when they need my services. they come around begging me for a favor. this is a site to behold. i ask them in no uncertian terms. you see me all the time and never . even say hello. even tell me to take a walk , when i stop and say hi to you. call me satan. devil apostate etc. now you have the Balls to come to me. because your having a problem with your car. on top of that you want me to fix it for FREE. !!!!!!!! after this goes on for about 10 minutes. they still think i should help them. what a bunch of dopes. i give them the phone number to bethel 718 560 5000 and tell them to call their loving bro's and see what they will do for them? i'm sure they will do the same for you that i will do NOTHING. and it seems like we're getting a few like this nearly every day.

people who were raised jws, really worry that they are doing the right thing in leaving, yet who have been made to feel not good enough by the wts, who felt they never measured up, who struggled with it, but came to realize that what they'd been brought up to believe was just not the truth.. the same stories are told over and over again, and they come from sincere, good people - not whiny, fault-finding apostates like the rest of us riffraff around here!

arthur: guys like you should have kept your mouth shut about my posts. from me BUSTING zarco's story about fire. this all started. i read between the lines about what he posted. and called him on it. i was honest. Stop whining like a 4 year old girl. just because zarco left. ther are 100's of jw's working the streets of your town. find them and work them. invite them to your house. and spend hour after hour . reasoning with them. go the a kingdom hall and sit in the library with half a dozen jw's open up thier books right infront of thier faces. and show them the false prophecies. print out flyers and put them on every car near the hall at meeting time. i bet your the type of guy ,that runs and hides in the ladies room , when you see jw's coming. let's talk about the junk you post. and i'll ask what in the world . do your thread topics have to do with the wt. topics like HORRIBLE ALBUM COVERS. that really helps out a jw who want's to knows about 1925. pictures of Mel Gibson. well maybe that will get some jw to watch the passion movie? SCULPTURES from Ron Mueck. of a fat naked man. and an old lady sitting constapated. maybe that will help some jw' learn about the wt's probition of pasturized milk? stop crying over spilled milk. if you were so interested in zarco you should have pm'ed him right away and left him you home phone number. to call your house. don't give me your hypocritical bull. i'll work jw's my way. and you work them your way. i will let the lord judge my work not you. john
